Aimy

The aimy project is a set of python packages that provide services I consider important in a platform for implementation of a meaningful artificial intelligence.

The intention is still to steadily add service items that each will increase the base platform's functionality and seamlessly add to the AI's ability to interact with the world.

Now that a small set of service items is in place and is channeling information from the outside world to a central location, my focus shifts to the task of sorting that information and making it useful.

Who's it for?

Eventually this software will be for everyone. I dream of a system of interconnected AI freely exchanging information and sharing functionality among aimy "bots" and their users.

For now, the project is still in early development and so might be of interest only to developers who want to give their time and talent to the world freely.

What's Stable?

This is early development and there are no guarantees, but there are some areas I begin to feel are reaching stability, including:

• The concept of a tree of service objects held by a single root object (that itself is contained by a Core object) is stable. It will almost certainly continue to represent the structure of the program.
• The functionality defined in the core __init__ module is relatively stable. There may be small changes and additions for a while yet, but that will decrease as time passes and eventually (hopefully) will stop altogether.
• The concept of Events and Commands and the way they're implemented are unlikely to change, though there may still be useful additions and manipulations in the future.

What's Unstable?

Apart from the above, nearly every other aspect of the project can be expected to change frequently and significantly.

Important Features

These features are all implemented at least to some degree and will continue to be improved and prioritized.

• Multiple language support
• Thread-optional time sharing
• Uninterrupted runtime update/reload
